Pros & Cons
Pros & Cons
- The perfect tyre combination for technical gravel routes, with plenty of grip for wet conditions!
- The Race Pro carcass combines a 2-layer tread with 3-layer sidewalls for flexibility, speed and control.
- Features a V-Guard anti-puncture layer for extra protection.
- For a fast, dry track, it’s better to choose a tyre with a less pronounced tread pattern, as this results in less rolling resistance.

With this set comprising the Schwalbe G-One RX Pro and G-One R Pro, you’ll be ready for technical gravel rides. On the front is the RX Pro: a tyre with a deep tread and sturdy knobs, offering plenty of grip in corners, on loose stones, wet forest tracks and even a bit of mud. On the rear is the R Pro: an all-rounder that rolls more smoothly whilst still providing plenty of grip when climbing.
This set is ideal if you often venture off the beaten track on your gravel bike, even in wet conditions, or if you ride cyclocross. Do you mainly ride on tarmac and dry gravel roads and want to be as fast as possible? Then take a look at the Schwalbe G-One R Pro + G-One RS Pro. Not sure which tyres are right for your rides? Then read our buying guide for gravel tyres.
Race Pro carcass
The carcass is the tyre’s framework. There are two layers beneath the tread, ensuring the tyre rolls smoothly and quickly. The sidewalls have three layers, providing better protection against sharp stones.
V-Guard
Beneath the tread is an extra protective layer against sharp stones, thorns and glass. This reduces the chance of getting a puncture whilst riding.
Tubeless ready
The tyres are designed to be ridden without an inner tube. With a little sealant inside, small punctures seal themselves, and you can ride with lower tyre pressure for better grip and comfort.
Fits
- 28-inch wheels, also known as 700c (ETRTO 622).
- Gravel bikes and cyclocross bikes with sufficient space in the frame and front fork for the width you choose.
- Tubeless rims, or standard rims with an inner tube.
- Rough gravel, dry and wet forest tracks, and a bit of mud.
Not suitable for
- 27.5-inch or 650b wheels (ETRTO 584).
- A frame or front fork with insufficient clearance for the chosen width.
- Rides that are mainly on tarmac: you’ll roll faster with less tread.
Not sure? Here’s how to check
Look at the side of your current tyre. You’ll see a size such as “40-622”. If the last number is 622, these tyres will fit your rim. The first number is the width in mm. If you’re planning to ride on wider tyres than you do now, check the maximum tyre width for your bike in the manual or on the bike brand’s website. Also check what tyre width your rim manufacturer recommends.
Included as standard
- 1 Schwalbe G-One RX Pro folding tyre for your front wheel.
- 1 Schwalbe G-One R Pro folding tyre for your rear wheel.
- If you select ‘Add to order’ for the Mantel Sealant, you’ll receive 2 x 125 ml bottles: one per tyre.
Not included / still needed or useful
- Tubeless valves and tubeless rim tape, if your wheels don’t already have them: available at tubeless accessories.
- Sealant, if you don’t order it with your order: for example Mantel Bio Tyre Sealant or Schwalbe Doc Blue.
- Inner tubes, if you’re not riding tubeless, such as the Mantel Road Bike Inner Tube in your tyre width.
- A repair kit for on the go, such as the Lezyne Tubeless Kit.
- The maximum tyre pressure is marked on the sidewall of the tyre. On gravel, you usually ride at a much lower pressure for better grip and comfort. You can calculate your ideal tyre pressure using Schwalbe’s Pressure Prof tool on the Schwalbe website.
- If you ride tubeless, check a few times a year to make sure there’s still enough sealant in your tyres. Dried-out sealant won’t seal punctures any more.
- After a muddy ride, clean your tyres with water so that you can spot any cuts or small stones lodged in the tread in good time.
- If you’ve been riding mainly on tarmac for a while, keep an eye on the wear on the knobs of your front tyre.
